The BOMB

Welcome to the BOMB.

The Blog Of the "Mother" of Bandit.
Bandit is my Hairless Chinese Crested--he's the "normal" one. I, on the other hand, am unrepentantly "pet-crazy." You know the type--the spinster who lives in the haunted house three blocks over with 72 cats...okay, so I don't have 72 cats, and my house isn't haunted--but my dogs wardrobe is better than mine! Need I say more? :~)
I've never been consistant at journaling, so the timing of my blogs will be sporadic at best. I just hope they are as entertaining to you as they are to me; however, be forewarned: Most of my blogs will be about The BaldOne. In spite of his Don King "do," I think he's just as cute as any of the Brothers B!
Now, if I can just remember not to get him wet--or feed him after midnight...

About Me

My photo
My bags are packed and I'm always ready to seek out an adventure with Bandit and Moggy in tow. Bandit is my thirteen year old Chinese Crested, who I frequently call The Bald One or The BaldOne Boy (like he was one of the Baldwin Brothers). Moggy’s full name is Pip-Moggy. He’s my two year old gansta-resuce kitty. I couldn’t decide between Pip (which are the spots on die and domino tiles) and Moggy (or Moggie when I mistakenly thought he was a she), so I combined the two. Moggy refers to the British term for "cat of unknown parentage .” So in essence, I have an almost bald dog, and I’ve named my cat “Spot.”

Fun Stuff (I'm doing now or have done)

  • Artistic Attempts weekly (alternating between Painting With A Twist, That Art Place, and Peniot's Palette).
  • Bunko with the Belton Bunko Babes monthly.
  • Participating in the A to Z Blogging Challenge.
  • Spades and Liverpool Rummy with the Spadetts weekly.
  • The Mighty Texas Dog Walk, Austin (fund raiser for Service Dogs, Inc--they train shelter dogs to be Service Dogs, then give them free of charge to people with disabilities.)

TV-Induced Paranoia and Jury Duty Deferral.

I finally reached a real live person in the Jury Services Department at the Bell County Justice Complex. 🙃

Per "Linda" I have received my first deferral (until Oct 06, 2025). Should I require another deferral, I will need an MD note.

I told her I was sad I had to request this deferral--I'm one of "those people" who consider it an honor, privilege, and grave responsibility to serve on Jury Duty.

Have you received your Jury Summons yet?

By my totally unofficial observations it appears they really are ramping up their rolls:

1) Two of our Collage foursome have received a Summons. (50%)

2) my Home Infusion RN today said she received hers (her trainee had not--50-66% dependent upon if your count the trainee or not).

3) another RN in my VA workgroup of 6 received hers--both of us were to report July 28th [that's 1/3 (33%) of our workgroup told to report on the same day].

4) several casual acquaintances have mentioned they also received their summons.

And it's not just here in Texas--HS friends in Florida report they too have received summons.

AND, the former occupant of my current domicile received something from another Texas Courthouse in my mailbox today.

Are the courts anticipating more cases?

Is this an unofficial way to gauge our off-year census?

Or is it something more sinister...

Most likely it's the fact my remote control is MIA and the TV in the bedroom is stuck on my 6 am On/ 2 am Off schedule--and for some reason the True Crime channel is what was playing when I lost the remote...

(Amazon has delivered two universal remotes--neither of which work, even though it's the same replacement I bought the LAST time I was in need. And yes, I've switched batteries, AND purchased new batteries jic the opened package housed old batteries).

I have managed to manually change the channel--to ME TV which shows all the detective, law enforcement, and first responder shows I grew up watching. Not exactly True Crime--more like "Cozy" Crime (e.g. lightweight, no on-scene blood or gore, resolution by the end of the third act)--like a cozy novel for TV.

Deferred Jury Duty is probably a good idea at this time--my head is too much into true crime and conspiracy theories right now. 😉

TV-induced paranoia might be another reason for a Jury Duty deferral. 😂
